Völva wands or distaffs are believed to have been used in Viking magic or Seidr by powerful women in Viking society.
 
This wand has been based on an example from Gälve in Sweden and is now kept in the National Museum of Denmark.
 
The wand would look great on a reenactment or living history display about ancient magic or influential women.
 
It has been hand forged using traditional blacksmithing techniques in my workshop in South Buckinghamshire, UK
